The Crossroads Education Group is pleased to announce a novel, intuition-driven Extra Mile workshop designed to introduce grade 8-12 students to the key ideas of calculus, to be held April 2-6 (two hours per day). The workshop will be taught by Dr. Robert Lenk (physicist, trader, teacher).

The central ideas of calculus, typically introduced gradually over a year-long course–and often in a formulaic, non-intuitive fashion in even our best schools–are actually so intuitive and straightforward that they can be learned in a few afternoons.

In this workshop, students will learn the core concepts of differential and integral calculus, and acquire a sense of the remarkable power of this branch of mathematics. Understanding calculus well, both intuitively and functionally, is of critical importance in a remarkable range of fields, and is something we feel can and should be started early.
